In normal, daily life, we provide our opinions on a lot of topics and situations to whoever will listen to us. People may directly be listening to you if you are talking to them face-to-face, over the phone or through text message.
People may not be directly listening to you if you make a post on a social media page stating what your input is about something. People could read it and interact with it. They could read it and scroll past it. Or they could miss your post altogether. Either way, you may have felt empowered by posting your opinions, but did your opinions actually create tangible change? Or did you just shout into the void?
One way to ensure your opinions do not get lost in the wind is by becoming a survey panelist on Rakuten Insight.
What Is Rakuten Insight?
Rakuten Insight is a true online survey and market research platform owned and operated by Rakuten Insight Global, Inc. Providing your opinions on Rakuten Insight can help you create change in the world and earn rewards for doing so.
Both Rakuten Insight and its parent company work hand-in-hand with businesses, organizations, universities and other entities to create worthwhile market research for consumers to answer. Rakuten distributes the market research—primarily in the form of surveys—and collects responses from its survey panelists to then give back to the entity that helped them create the survey. The entity then uses consumers’ insights to guide them in the right direction when it comes to developing new products, policies and services.
Rakuten works with these companies and entities from all over the world, though they are primarily focused on clients and consumers from Europe, the United States and Asia.
There are currently over two million members from around the globe participating in market research from Rakuten. These members provide their opinions on survey topics such as daily life, daily routines, habits, health, vehicles, miscellaneous household topics and so much more.
You can complete these online surveys at any time and from anywhere, whether you are at home or on-the-go. There is a Rakuten Insight smartphone app you can download if you have an Android phone. If you do not have an Android phone, you can use an iOS browser to participate on your iPhone or even a normal desktop PC or laptop at home.
Rewards and Additional Survey Details from Rakuten Insight
While you can feel good about expressing your opinions in a platform that will ensure your voice is heard in order to create meaningful change, you can also enjoy the great rewards from Rakuten for the surveys you complete.
For each survey or piece of market research you complete, you will be rewarded with a set amount of points. Once you accumulate enough points, you can redeem them for prizes such as PayPal cash, Venmo payments and Amazon gift cards.
These prizes can be redeemed once you have earned at least $5 worth of points. Typically, 100 points is equal to $1, so you will most likely need 500 points to begin cashing out.
Each survey will also have its own point allotment depending on the length and difficulty of the survey. Some surveys may take up to five minutes to complete and could only be worth up to five points. Some surveys will be longer in length and you can earn 40 or more points by completing it.
Typically though, Rakuten surveys will vary in length from a few minutes to 30 minutes.
Joining Rakuten Insight
It is a very simple process in order to become a Rakuten Insight member. First of all, you need to be at least 16 years old to create a Rakuten account. You will also need to set aside at least 10 minutes to completely register; you may need more time due to one step in particular (more on that in a bit).
Additionally, you will need a valid email address, Google account or Facebook account in order to create your Rakuten account. If you choose to sign up with your email address, you will be asked to enter your standard registration details like your name, birthdate, gender, etc. You will also create a password for your account at this step.
You will then be directed to a page telling you to check your email inbox for Rakuten Insight’s welcome email. This welcome email could take up to 20 minutes to appear in your inbox which is why creating your account could take longer than 10 minutes. Please be patient though. If you do not see the welcome email after 20 minutes, please request another one.
In the welcome email, there will be a button to confirm your registration. You will click that button and then it will tell you that your account has officially been created. At this point, you can log into your account and tour your dashboard.
The Rakuten Insight dashboard is extremely easy-to-read and user-friendly.
The main menu on the left side of the page is scannable and features good-sized text. The tabs that are available to you include Surveys (which shows you available surveys and surveys you have completed in the past), Reward History (which shows you the points you have earned from completing surveys and any bonus points you may have earned), Point Shop (where you go to redeem your points), Exchange History (which shows you the rewards you have redeemed your points for in the past), Account Settings, Member Profile, News and more.
There is also a banner at the top of the dashboard that always tells you how many points you have earned and if you have any notifications that need your attention.
The first tab you should visit is the Member Profile tab. Here you will complete your member profile which will ensure you are matched to future surveys that are applicable to your lifestyle and your interests. The categories of the Member Profile that you will need to complete include Basic Information, Household, Vehicle, Health and Work. It should take you less than five minutes to complete each category.
If you complete your member profile within seven days of creating your account, Rakuten Insight will award you with bonus points.
